How To Enter


  On-Site: This method of entry will be every Friday at K605 George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School, 105 Tech Pl, Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York 11201, from 2:00 PM -4:00 PM. 


  Online: This method of entry will be available by visiting our website (https://yabc-moneytalksedu.talentlms.com)

  • Wait up to 2 -3 hours for activation; it may be sooner, depending on the class size or group size.


Limit one (1) entry per person, per email address, and household for the duration of the Contest Period, regardless of the method of entry. Entries from any person, email address, or household in excess of the stated limitation will be void. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Contest Period


The Contest begins on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 2:00 PM and ends on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 4:00 PM (the "Contest Period"). Submissions will be accepted for the Contest duration using the following methods: On-Site & Online. 

Sponsor


The Contest is Hosted by Money Talks Edu, sponsored by Young Adult Borough Centers and Good Shepard Services, and paid for by the New York Department of Education. 

Agreement to Official Rules


Participation in the contest constitutes the entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon compliance with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements herein.

Classroom Rules


  • No sleeping or laying head down
  • No sidebar conversations
  • Only one person speaking at a time
  • No phones out during class
  • Only one person to the restroom at a time
  • Participation is mandatory
  • Students are expected to be quiet while other classmates are speaking
  • Students are expected to participate in the MoneyTalksEdu online forum
  • Each Student is expected to arrive on time.
  • Note-taking can be done via your laptop or paper/pen.
  • Students should not be surfing the web for any reason outside the work required for that class period.
  • Complete assignments on or before the due date
  • Unexcused and excessive absences will result in the forfeit of all winnings.
  • Unexcused and excess lateness will result in the forfeit of all winnings
  • One Student out in the bathroom at a time
  • No Cell Phones unless needed for class

Prize Drawing


On or about June 02, 2023, the Sponsor will select potential winners in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner via telephone or email. If the potential winner cannot be contacted within five (5) days after the first attempt to contact him/her, the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from the remaining non-winning, eligible entries.

Prize Tiers


 

  •   The Grand Prize Winner will receive $500.00 (Minimum of 500,000 points) 


  •   Second Place Winner will receive $250.00 (Minimum of 250,000 points) 


  •   Third Place Winner will receive $150.00 (Minimum of 150,000 points) 

Winner Notification

Eligibility


The potential winners will be notified by email, mail or phone. Each potential Grand and First Prize winner (parent/legal guardian if a minor in his/her state of residence) will be required to complete, electronically sign and submit a Declaration of Compliance within five (5) days of the date notice or attempted notice is sent, to claim his/her prize. If a potential winner cannot be contacted or fails to submit the Declaration of Compliance within the required time period (if applicable), or the prize is returned as undeliverable, the winner forfeits the prize. If the potential winner is at least 18 but still considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian, who will be required to sign the Declaration of Compliance on the potential winner's behalf and fulfill any other requirements imposed on winner set forth herein. Potential winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. If a potential winner is disqualified, the Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner by drawing from among all remaining eligible entries. Only three (3) alternate drawings will be held, after which the prize will remain un-awarded. Prizes will be fulfilled approximately two weeks after the Contest's conclusion. 



Eligibility 


Money Talks Edu Financial Literacy Competition (the "Contest") is open to Young Adult Borough Center Interns, Good Shepard Services Interns, and George Westington House Students.


Employees of Young Adult Borough Centers and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and advertising and promotion agencies, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee, are not eligible.


Random prize giveaways will be given throughout the program/ competition. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Information collected from entrants is subject to the Sponsor's privacy policy.
